There can be multiple answers to "What does it mean to live a good life?" Every answer can be different from person to person. Coming from a house with little income or just a single parent, one's answer to that question could be that they're happy with living life and going day to day being alive. I know my answer to that question. My answer is that living a good life is being able to wake up everyday knowing that I'm able to do what I want. To little restraints, living in the United States means you're able to live your life the way you want to. I'm living a good life when I know that my family and friends are healthy, and I'm living my life the way I want to. To me, that's what living a good life means.
Deciding on a major wasn't so difficult for me because I've always loved the idea of gaming or programming. I'd like to someday make a game from scratch or something like that. I find myself in my spare time, when I'm not playing basketball, playing some sort of game. I thought it'd make sense if I go into a major where I can still game. Whether or not I end up making games or end up being in a random business is up to the future and what I decide in college. But for right now I think I know I'm supposed to be a computer information major. Yet for some people its not so easy because they enjoy a variety of things. I guess that's why you're at Thomas More though, you've decided to pursue your dream! You'll figure out quickly what major or course you love the most.
Hi I'm Stacey Newport and I grew up in a small town called Bright, Indiana. I went and graduated from East Central High School. I'm a nursing major and hope to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner. I Played basketball, volleyball, and was a gymnast in high school. I am excited for the future and can't wait to see what everyone has in store for them! Good luck to all! 😊
Before I enrolled at Thomas More, I knew I wanted to go into something related to sports. I decided on Sports Marketing because I like the business side of sports. I've always wanted to work with a sports team, even if I am not the starting quarterback for the Bengals like I dreamed of when I was 7. Although I won't be on the field, I'll most likely be on the financial side, dealing with player finances to merchandise sales. My favorite part of sport video games was the financial part, which I find cool because you have to make a franchise as rich as possible. Hopefully my time here at Thomas More pays off and lands me a dream job with a quality professional or collegiate team.
During my senior year, I really started to look into nursing, by the means of shadowing and just having meetings and asking questions a high school student would have about that career. When I enrolled in Thomas More, I read deep into the nursing program and have found it is one of the best programs here. I hope to work with oncology patients when I get a job, or maybe to just start out at Cincinnati Children's on any floor that will get me a job. I am not in nursing for the money, even though money does matter, I just want to help individuals improve their health and make theirs life better with their time being in the hospital. Hopefully these next few years help me become the bet possible nurse I can be to support my family and the ones in need.
When answering the question "What does it mean to live a good life?", I find the answer to be rather subjective. It all depends on who you ask. For myself, I was raised in a Catholic background my whole life, so upon replying, my answer immediately turns to reflect on my faith. To live a good life means to do well on earth relying back on firm and good set of morals so as to reach heaven, while at the same time trying to bring as many other people with me as I can. So we can all share in eternal life in heaven. That being said, faith aside, living a good life seems as simple as treating everyone fairly, making an honestly living, and surrounding yourself with people that make you happy.
